September 2007, Augusta, GA - Kevin L. Ward, 2007 State Rick Perkins Award (RPA) Winner, was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and raised in Augusta, Georgia.  Ward was educated in the public school system of Richmond County, Georgia. Following graduation from Westside High School, he received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Augusta State University in 1991 and received a Master’s degree in Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1994.

In September of 2003, Ward began his career at Augusta Technical College as a Marketing Management instructor. Ward’s position at Augusta Technical College allows him to combine his two passions, education and business. Concurrent with duties as a marketing instructor, Ward also serves as the marketing program’s department head. Ward has represented the Business and Personal Services Division on the President’s Faculty Advisory Council for Augusta Technical College. Ward has also worked with Augusta Tech’s Center for Advanced Technology to develop the Virtual Enterprise Entrepreneurship Program. With this program, Ward and his teammates worked to create course modules that could be utilized by entrepreneurs to assist them in making sound decisions for their businesses. This Virtual Entrepreneurship program was created primarily for entrepreneurs that come to the United States from foreign countries and speak English as a second language. The Virtual Entrepreneurship Program provides information to students on how to effectively manage and grow a small business.

Prior to Augusta Technical College, Ward’s work experience included working in the real estate industry, finance and marketing industry, and pharmaceutical sales. Ward’s dedication to results and commitment to company goals allowed him to be an award winning finance officer and pharmaceutical sales representative.

Ward is married to the former Tabitha Dixon.  His hobbies include golf and jogging. Ward cares deeply for his beloved Augusta and is involved with several organizations that contribute to the CSRA community. Ward is a member and trustee of the Second Providence Baptist Church in North Augusta, South Carolina.
